Compensation: Pay is based on $30.00/hr for the intensive SAT/ACT classes. It's negotiable depending on your experience and education.
    Part time available (not mandated to work Mon-Fri)

SAT/ACT prep teacher needed to take over intensive, summer, SAT/ACT program and private tutoring at prestigious learning center in Torrance for remainder of summer term. (Can turn into long term employment at end of term if the fit feels right for all concerned.)

Experience teaching test prep preferred, but outstanding English and ESL teachers lacking such experience will also be considered, as will recent college grads with some teaching experience and excellent SAT/ACT/AP English scores.

Exceptional curricular materials and some initial training will be provided to get you up to speed quickly, so you won't feel like you're jumping out of a plane without a paddle. (If you spotted the hokey and totally pointless mixed metaphor, we're off to a good start.)

Interview process will involve completing the English section of the SAT, although the scores will not be the main criterion in picking a candidate. Rather it will be the person's intelligence, enthusiasm, and determination to excel in the classroom.

* SAT/ACT English Reading/Writing (highly needed)
* College application and essay
* Math areas up to SAT/ACT/ AP Calc/ AP Statistics
* Science areas up to AP Bio/Chem/Physics
* History areas up to AP World/ EURO/ US History
* Book Club/Debate

Qualification
- A four-year degree from a college or university
- Prior teaching or education-related professional experience is a big plus
- A willingness to commit for at least a one-year
